Kearsarge Poetry Festival

The Kearsarge Poetry Festival and a gala Writers' Block Party celebrating the appointment of Donald Hall, U.S. Poet Laureate Sponsored by The New Hampshire Writers' Project.

Tom will present the following workshop:

How to Write Lyrics that Sing

Emphasizing structure rather than musical forms, this workshop will explore such vexing questions as What is the difference between writing lyrics and poetry? What makes a successful song? How do we handle rhythm and rhyme? Through brief, hands-on exercises, you will come away with a sense of how to begin the process of putting words to music. Have you been working on a song that’s been driving you nuts? Bring it along.
$25 (member) $30 (nonmember)
Class limit: 8. All levels.
