Roll Along
©Tom Eslick 1996
The water cuts smoothly in a serpentine flow
Meanders and falls to the valley below
And the wind stirs the larch trees
As the clouds roll ahead
Telling of changes to come
And over the ridge-line they billow and fly
Towering thunderheads
Reaching the sky
And off in the distance
A grumbling roll
Means you better find some place to hide.
Cho.
For out here there's a wildness to changes
It's a rhythm that's tied to the land
Better learn how to live
With what nature gives
And roll along with the thunder
Well, the rain pelts your tarp as you huddle inside
And you feel at the mercy of some Biblical tide
And just when you think you'll be washed away
The sun makes a heavenly show
Cho.
So when you feel victim of some inner storm
Just ride the changes and you'll be safe and warm
There's a wildness in thunder, but a gentle in rain
And the two are part of the same
