Run With the Sun
©Tom Eslick 1996
Misty-eyed mornings and dark-sided dawnings
Calling me back to the warmth of the night
It's hard to awaken
Knowing I'm shaken
By something that keeps me from facing the light
Waking to moments of unanswered questions
Pondering futures that never will come
Then something that drives you and
Something that guides you
Gives you the feeling you're never alone.
Cho:
It's enough to make you wonder
How the soothing rain can follow the thunder
How all of the madness and
All of the sadness
Soon fades away when you run with the sun
The rain begins healing the pain that I'm feeling
Parts the clouds open and brings in the light
Then the pull of the sunlight
Weaves through the clouds like
A shimmering pattern of stasis in flight
And though the night calls me, beckons, enthralls me
I'll run with the sunlight, I'll dance in the rain
I'll take what is given
The moment's for livin'
And finding the strength to begin again
