Eastbound Train
©Tom Eslick 1996
By the time you get this letter
I'll be half-way home
Maybe in Ohio
I'll try to stop and phone
To see if you could meet me
At the station in town
That is if you're still waiting
For your man to come around
Cho:
And I guess it's really time
I started heading home
I've been away a long, long time
So, I'll turn my collar to the wind and the rain
And catch an early mornin' eastbound train.
Well, it's raining now in Utah
And I feel it to my bones
Even though I really thought
I'd make it on my own
All my schemes and fantasies
Could never see me through
I just can't seem to run away
From memories of you
Cho:
Well, the Colorado Rockies
Are beautiful to see
But still I miss the feeling
Of you being close to me
And though I've seen a lot of things
There's nothing I'd rather do
Then spend New Hampshire mornings with you
Cho:
